Godly Conduct

Marsha Kochi

Scripture

Isaiah 33:15-16
He who walks righteously and speaks uprightly,
who despises the gain of oppressions,
who shakes his hands, lest they hold a bribe,
who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed
and shuts his eyes from looking on evil,
he will dwell on the heights;
his place of defense will be the fortresses of rocks;
his bread will be given him; his water will be sure.

Observation

We need to walk according to the will of God, conduct ourselves in a righteous way, speak what is true and upright. Despise cruelty, dishonesty and anything that is obtained through evil means. His security and refuge, His provisions, are here for us now.

Application

Even if I go through my share of trials, pain, mistakes and problems, I can rest assured that I will see in time, the good that will become of what I am going through. If I don't walk with Him in the way that He wants me to, I lose sight of where my reliance should be, and I start to look at how the world resolves it's problems. I tend to look at things in a very critical way, may want to place blame, problems seem so big, and resolution seems so far away. My focus has to be on Him, so that when I am caught off guard, or hit with something unexpected, I will immediately go to Him, avoiding the consequences of possibly being in disobedience.

Prayer

Thank You Lord for Your grace, protection, provisions and Your reminders through the Word, in how to walk in submission and in alignment with You.
