Scripture

Acts1:7He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority.8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”9And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.

Observation

Here we see the famous ascension scene of Jesus. The disciples are hanging on every word that the risen Jesus is speaking to them. He is reminding them of all the things that He was teaching, while He was with them. Jesus is preparing to depart from the disciples so He tells them to remeber what their mission is. And this is it. To Go and tell the world about Jesus. In our home, community, State, Country and abroad.

Application

The testimonies that the Lord places in our hearts is such a powerful witness. How Jesus heals and tranforms my life can be used to change this world. But the world will never know what He has done in me unless I share it with others. I love it when Pastor Wayne talks about how our lives are to be conduits rather than cul-de-sacs of God's blessings. It is wonderful to be saved and blessed but unless we share the blessings with others we miss out on the main purpose of our existance which is to glorify God.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for reminding me what I am called to do. Help me to make Your name famous by sharing your love to those around me. I know that you blessed me to be a blessing, so please Lord use me for your glory. In Jesus Name I pray Amen.
