Relationship Cancer

Rod Shimabukuro

Scripture
As for a person who stirs up division, after warning him once and then twice, have nothing more to do with him, [11]knowing that such a person is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned. Titus 3:10-11
Observation
This passage is speaking of false teachers or those who are divisive, quarreling and argumentative against the gospel. Disciplinary measure are necessary for such. The church must not allow deceptive and divisive people to be a part of leadership - or even the church if they are influencing others away from the truth.
Application
I remember years ago, asking one of our leaders to stop teaching doctrine that was not aligning with the Scriptures. Oh boy - was there a debate and fleshy anger. But when the Bible is taught and people are confused about who God is - there’s a danger. I can see that we Christians don’t agree on certain areas of Scripture - but when there’s confession in the Body of Christ as to the central Person of who the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are - we have to confront the issue and person.

There’s a principle for our relationships here: Be careful of those who stir up divisions, controversies. The cancer of strife is rooted in deeper issues. Why do people want to cause division in relationships? Pride, not getting their way, being hurt and wanting to somehow make others feel their pain? Getting others back who hurt them?
Prayer
Rod - be careful that you do not project any internal hurtful thoughts/attitudes you deal with on others. Deal with what could be cancer cells in your life with Me, says the Lord. I’m warning you to process your judgmental, critical thoughts with ME! I will reveal to you, the roots of any sinful cells of divisiveness. HELP ME JESUS and THANK YOU SPIRIT OF MY LIVING GOD!
