God's Perfect Will For Me

Richard Waialeale

Scripture

Mark 16:19-20 (NIV)

19 After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God.

20 Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.

Observation

It’s amazing to think how Jesus perfect will for us is to continue the work He started, which is to preach the Gospel everywhere. When I think about all the things Jesus did during His ministry and now the Bible says that we are now His disciples spreading the Good News to the world.

God’s will for Jesus didn’t seem perfect to His disciples, but it was perfect to Him. I believe there will be times when I feel His perfect will for me will not seem perfect to me. But in the big scheme of things, it is perfect for me because of the big picture which I cannot see, but God can. That’s His perfect will for me.

God’s will for Job wasn’t perfect to him, he suffered pain and lost everything. But it was perfect for him, because at the end of the story, it brought him to a whole new level of faith and positioned him for a greater blessing later in his life.

Application

I may not understand it all, but if I just stand in faith, knowing that God’s perfect will is more then I can see or understand. Then as I walk in faith, doors begin to open, opportunities arise and I take it step by step, hanging on to Jesus. I walk in God’s perfect will for me - it may not seem perfect to me, but it’s perfect for me because it’s God’s will. Something I cannot see, but He knows it’s good for me. I trust in Him.

Prayer

Thank you Lord for taking hold of my life and guiding me into Your perfect will for me. I seek You and turn from my understanding to Your ways for my life, that I might know Your perfect will for me. "Trust in the Lord with all my heart adn lean not on my own understanding. In all my ways Lord, I acknowledge You." Thank you in Jesus Name. Amen
