Come On Jump

Calvin Kochi

Scripture
Isaiah 41:11-13 “All who rage against you
will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you
will be as nothing and perish. 12 Though you search for your enemies, you will not find them.
Those who wage war against you
will be as nothing at all. 13 For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear;I will help
Observation
I can waste a lot time worrying or getting frustrated and angry at people who hurt me, disagree with me, get angry at me, talk stink about me. But here I am reminded that no matter what the situation no matter what my feelings are telling me God is in control. He will take me by the hand and walk me through any and all situation I don’t have to
Application
My observation of this verse is easier said than done. What really happens when thing are not going my way and my emotion are getting the best of me. Knowing that The Lord is there with me should bring me the peace so that I would place all my trust and fears in Him so that I don’t react in a way that bring out the very person that I am trying not to be. You see it takes more that just knowing Gods word I must believe it and do what it is telling me to do. This reminds me of when my son was growing up I would be in the pool and tell my 5-year-old son to jump to daddy. He would come to the edge of the pool but not jump. It wasn’t till he saw me catching the older relatives and them actually being caught and having fun that he got brave enough to jump. Seeing the faith of others is the encouragement that we all need.
Prayer
My prayer is that I can be one of those that is like the older relatives that gave my son the courage to step out and jump. Lord give me the strength to trust you and not worry about winning my battles when I feel that my rights are being violated or my feeling hurt. I know that you will take me by the hand and help me.
